Our platform

The five NaBors United candidates are running on a single platform with four key points:

Complete the façade repair as soon as possible

Until this is done our building continues to deteriorate, our apartments are unsaleable, the co-op continues to accumulate fines, and we keep paying money for the scaffolding.

Alleviate financial burden

Because of the necessity of completing the façade work, we will not pause the current assessment, but we are committed to exploring all avenues of securing funding to try and reduce it and set our co-op on a better financial footing. This will include working to uncover what happened to the money raised by previous assessments levied on us.

Create a culture of transparency

The current board has kept shareholders in the dark for too long. We will be as transparent as we can be within our responsibility to manage the co-op. Being realistic, until we are on the board we cannot know exactly what that looks like, but we promise that you will see the difference.

Foster community

Longstanding board members say they want new members on the board but do little to foster the next generation of candidates. We have seen a great community spring up in the wake of the current crisis. We will engage that community to advise the board, work on meaningful subcommittees, and help prepare people to run for the board in future elections.
